Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 9, 2020 (edited August 9, 2020)One of my favorite all time Scotchs. Have not tried the 14yo. Sweet with some complexity on both the nose and palate.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Shackleton Blended Malt
Blended Malt — highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 6, 2020 (edited August 9, 2020)Smokey but delicate. Well balanced but pretty simple and friendly, but that is expected in a blend. Worth a try for the price and cool story.36.0 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Straight Rye
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 5, 2020 (edited August 6, 2020)Nose is old browned banana and rubbing alcohol. Palate is sweet, old banana still... finish is honey sweet and old banana. Water brightened and brought more fruit and grass flavors. Will revisit to try and get away from banana... -
Nose is sweet vanilla and dried dark fruit, some tobacco. Palate is dense oil and sickly sweet vanilla. Think vanilla extract almost. Finish has cherry that quickly fades to a strange bitter medicinal note. A good qaulity whiskey but the overly sweet cherry and vanilla is not to my taste. Saving it for my wife who likes the Sweet notes.33.0 USD per Bottle

Spicy nose and taste that lets more herbal and woody qaulity come through than the sweetness of other bourbons. As a scotch guy that struggles with bourbon (the sweet roughness) it was a great buy. On second visit the bottle gets more dried fruit as it has contact with oxygen. Bananas and cinnamon on the palate.30.0 USD per Bottle
