Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 13, 2020 (edited February 29, 2020)I’ve already blown through 2 bottles of this in the last 3 weeks. Vanilla and caramel on the nose with a caramel finish. You can’t beat the price point either as I think this is one of the best values out there right now for around $ 30 a bottle. Grab it while it lasts. -
I was lucky enough to have my local sales guy set aside a bottle of this for me. Excellent from start to finish. Very nice spice throughout and a strong finish. I like it neat but even better with just 1 small ice cube as it really opens it up. Wish I had more, but sadly it’s gone, as I just couldn’t resist letting my fellow bourbon brothers with true appreciation from having a taste.

Woodford Reserve has always been a great bourbon but sometimes I feel like it is a bit overpriced compared to what else is out there. The Double Oak is, in my mind, what Woodford should be doing to justify that higher price. It has a great nose and the extra time spent in the charred barrel really does make a difference that you can truly taste and appreciate.

Just tried this over the holidays and this is a great bourbon! The nose is absolutely packed with fruit and the finish has a nice bit of heat and oak with a bit of caramel at the end. It was fantastic served neat and didn’t need water/ice like some of its similarly priced competitors.72.99 USD per BottleWhitefish

Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2019 (edited January 31, 2019)I think this is definitely one of the best bourbons out there right now in terms of value. It is along the same price point as Maker’s Mark and it blows it out of the water. It’s a great intro into single barrel bourbon.37.5 USD per BottleWhitefish
