Reviewed September 23, 2021 (edited April 8, 2022)704 Gin Produced by Charlotte, NC's Great Wagon Road Distilling and named for the Charlotte Area Code. ***Side Note: Just noticed that the label states "Made in Concord NC" which would lead me to believe that this is being produced and infused by Southern Grace Distillery, or the base spirit is made by Southern Grace and then infused by Great Wagon Road.*** NOSE: Surprisingly Juniper Heavy at first. Piney, Peppery, Citrus and Sugar Cookie. NEAT: A little more modern than the nose would suggest. There is plenty of Juniper, but I wouldn't call it over piney. To compliment the Juniper there is Citrus Peel, Pepper, Floral, and Sugary Cookie Dough. A little grain from the base spirit. Seems like it would be equally at home in a Martini with Olive or Twist, G&T, or Gimlet. G&T: Got a little lost when paired with standard issue Fever Tree Tonic, but made a decent Gin & Tonic. MARTINI: Will report back once I prepare one. VERDICT: A nice take on Modern'ish with enough Juniper to satisfy traditionalists, and enough Citrus/Floral to appease fans of Modern Gins. I really like everything that comes out of GWR, and this is no exception. A decently priced, versatile Craft Gin.27.0 USD per BottleGreat Wagon Road Distilling Company
