Pronounced [a-nock], AnCnoc 16 is a Highland malt aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels. It is un chill filtered and bottled at 46% abv. It is distilled at the Knockdhu Distillery, but sold under the AnCnoc name to avoid confusion with neighboring Knockando Distillery.
Single MaltDistilled in pot stills from 100% malted barley, produced at one distillery, aged in barrels; if Scotch or Irish, must be aged for at least three years.
"There is a zesty quality on the nose with bright lemon rind and sea salt. Cereal and breakfast tea are in the mix as well. The whisky feels full on your palate with more citrus, this time in the form of dried oranges. Oak comes through towards the finish which is lengthy. When you consider the price, this under-the-radar whisky should be given much more attention."
