anCnoc 18 Year
anCnoc // Highlands, Scotland
anCnoc whiskies (pronounced "a-nock") are produced at the Knockdhu Distillery, founded by John Morrison in 1892, at the Knock estate in Aberdeenshire. This 18 year old whisky is aged in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon oak casks. It is un-chill filtered with no additional coloring, so may get cloudy with water or if kept in cold temperatures.
Single MaltDistilled in pot stills from 100% malted barley, produced at one distillery, aged in barrels; if Scotch or Irish, must be aged for at least three years.
"This is not quite as creamy as their 12 Year, however the flavor is more robust. Tangy berries and nuts get some residual smokiness from the bourbon oak. Toffee richness, orange peel and leather rounds it out. Perfect for fans of sherried whiskies who enjoy a more subtle approach."
