All I can say is I blinded this against PVW 15, Four Gate Split Stave, and Old Fitz 14 and it tied PVW for first. Beside the rich traditional bourbon flavors and complexity there is no offending flavors at all, just nothing I don’t like. This is simply a great bourbon.
Nose- vanilla with fruit trees in bloom and in fruit
Body- cherry coke and birch bark
Finish- the cherry continues with some black pepper zings on the tongue
This is fanfuckintastic! Reminds me of a Willett select. Gonna try to find this one.
Stock and Barrel Knoxville
Lots of grapes on the nose, thanks to the port finish. Some green apple and a hint of cranberry too. The fruity-ness continues into the palate, but to a lesser extent, with some oily, vegetal notes coming to play as well. Finish has an unexpected punch, but nothing too crazy, with far more savory notes of corn and a twinge of mint.
