Found notes suggest Don Carlos had envisioned a blend such as this one that never came to fruition. It's a blend of 8 and 10 year old rums that spend 12 months in first fill ex-bourbon casks.

"This is a very balanced rum with tart mango, red apple and pear giving way to brown sugar and vanilla. A delicious cocoa note appears after a couple of sips, with some toasted grain flavors. This is a terrific sipping rum that's dangerously easy to drink. Would be a shame to waste it in a cocktail."
