Careful with this one. White wine in color, as it is not chill-filtered or colored. Very heavily smoky nose, which becomes even heavier on the palate. There is a good bit of flavor coming on after a few seconds on the tongue and mouth, and this whisky has a great deal of body. I bought this to try a peated Scotch after falling for the Connemara cask strength - this is a whole different animal. To take that analogy further, if the Connemara is a sedate and sweet (and I mean sweet, as that is the main differentiation between the Connemara and the Ardbeg in my mind) hound, this is a mean and nasty Rottweiler with a bad temper. A lot going on, but not for the faint of heart.
