Ardbeg 10 Year

Absolutely brutal, knockout for your nose. Best Isla I've ever had.

This is the second single malt I've tried and the first Islay. As expected, it was QUITE peaty with that salty / seaweedy flavor. Surprisingly light coloring, and BAM! that smokey peat flavor smacks you right in your face. After the initial shock of that "new to me" Islay peat punch, it settled nicely on the palate and some of the more subtle flavors were able to come through.
