Arran The Robert Burns Single Malt

It's a decent dram, but you'd be better off at the price with some standard Arran. However, it is the only whisky that can legally have Robert Burns on it, so that itself is a talking point worth the price of admission to share with friends. Maybe read some of Bobby's poems while you're at it.

The smell is very pleasant. No alcohol, it smells like spring, blooming grass, nectar, sun, apple orchard in bloom. The color is light straw, with light greenish tint on light bending. The taste is light, sweet, subtle notes. There is light burn on the end, but otherwise the tones are mild, sweet, there is bit "wood fruit" vibe - hazelnut, walnut. Also leaving nice dryness in mouth after a moment. This is very mild, decent but warming. Nothing for advanced whisky lovers, they may find it mundane, but I think this is pretty neat dram for book reading or movie watching.

Lots of cream and vanilla with a hint of apricot. It certainly lacks complexity but does not lack flavour.

Nose: Apple, pear, custard, Victoria sponge, coconut, summer berry jam. Palate: Sweet, fruity and quite rich. This has a load of apple, strawberry jam. Vanilla and lightly floral Finish: Medium short finish. Apple, summer berry and a little citrus. The aftertaste brings some light baking spice / cinnamon. I had this back-to-back with the Robert Burns blended, it has a lot in common but is a step change improvement. Still not particularly memorable or exciting, but I really enjoyed this one. Very warm and easy to drink, fruity and floral. A decent wee dram.

Nice smooth taste but lacks complexity. Has nice nose ... some interesting sweetness that is unusual.

Not a true whiskey pro yet but I liked the sample I had of this. A bit mild compared to other Arrans but it's something I'd enjoy sharing with friends. Will pick up a bottle
