Aultmore 21 Year
Single Malt
Aultmore // Speyside, Scotland
Aultmore is from the Gaelic term meaning "Big Burn"; a burn being a small river or large stream. The Burn in discussion is the Burn of Auchinderran, the water source for the distillery. This is a malt usually reserved for blending, but some single malt bottlings exist, primarily as independent bottlings.
This distillery release 21 year bottling is aged in refill hogsheads and bottled at 92 proof. This was released in November 2014 exclusively for Travel Retail. Update: As of November 2018, this bottling is now available in the US.

Tasting Notes
"Fragrant notes of floral honey and malt notes hit your senses before you even put the glass to your nose. As you dig a little deeper you get some lemony sweet tea, vanilla, and mint. The palate isn't very rich, but has more honey notes, this time more dark amber. The finish shows some milk chocolate and gentle wood spices. This would be a great gateway dram for a bourbon drinker who doesn't think they like Scotch."
