Axe and the Oak Colorado Mountain Bourbon Whiskey

A local favorite with all of the making of a great sipper. It gets better each year, each batch. If you can find it where you are, get it!

Poured neat. Mesquite bbq chips, brown sugar and a hint of orange peel the nose. A small bit of a clove in there as well. Coats the mouth fairly well although a little thin. All the sweetness carries over from before although the brown sugar note has become caramelized. Chipped almonds and a heafty pinch of baking spice rounds things out nicely. Each sip leaves a little tingle on the tongue but the finish is fairly short overall. Leather and sweet oak flavors lingering longest.

Nose has hints of caramel, cinnamon. SUPER smooth (been opened for a while). Spice, sweet.
