Bacardí Rum Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron
Silver Rum
Bacardí // Puerto Rico
Maestro de Ron is a tribute to the master blenders of Bacardí over the generations, beginning when the distillery was located in Cuba.
This rum was created by current Master Blender Manuel Jorge Cutillas and other rum "maestros" using a double-aging process: Rums aged at least a year are blended together, then married for an additional 3 months in white oak and filtered for clarity.

Note: An illustration on the label depicts a biplane flying over a tropical landscape, as an homage to the Prohibition when Bacardí invited Americans to come drink rum legally in Cuba.

Tasting Notes
"Notes of white chocolate, raspberries, lychee, banana, and honey approach the palate. However, that's when harsh notes of acetone and charcoal deny the passport, and send what could be smoother flavors back whence they came. This rum was intended for cocktails, and perhaps would be best enjoyed with other ingredients where the sweetness and tropical fruit notes might stand a better chance. Hard to get past that alcoholic punch on its own."
