Most would agree it’s very good, the sherry balancing well with the Balvenie core malty, luscious spirit. But is it good enough to be worth 2x the 12 year? That’s a very good question. The extra years in the barrel add a complexity and viscous malty mouthfeel to the relatively thin and flat 12yr. My verdict? Yes, but only once. -
