Basil Hayden Dark Rye

The fruitiness was nice but it always ended with a musty finish which I wasn't a fan of. Worked well enough for making Manhattans and black Manhattans though.

This made for an excellent old fashioned!

I am a novice. But i am so surprised at how this taste. Bery mild. The overwhelming taste is long and at the end. Reminds me of old stale port. Not good port. Not a good rye taste. Confused.

Like all other Basil Haden ive teied. Weak. But this has off notes that dont help. No thanks.

Surprisingly sweet for a rye... definitely a dessert whiskey. Short finish and not very complex but solid sipper, especially if you are not looking for a dram to need to think about.
