Battle Standard 142 American Dry Gin Barrel Finished
Barrel-Aged Gin
KO Distilling // Virginia, USA
Named after the founders' alma mater, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the only federal academy authorized to fly a Battle Standard in memory of the 142 Cadet/Midshipmen who lost their lives during World War II. Distilled in 500-gallon batches, Battle Standard uses eight botanicals including juniper, cinnamon, orange peel, grains of paradise, angelica, cardamom, coriander and orris root.
Made in the contemporary/modern style which is to use less juniper to highlight the other botanicals. The gin is aged briefly in used bourbon barrels and is bottled at 90 proof.
