Reviewed November 23, 2020 (edited May 26, 2022)Moving on to sample 1 from Rick. legs are good with a nice golden color. Nose is more like a rye than a bourbon. I sense a strong dill note. There is an alfalfa hay note. I've only gotten that note on one other whiskey; Ranger Creek 0.38 bourbon. Palate brings that wonderful dill week flavor through. I'd definitely say this is a 95% rye mashbill. Wonderful rye flavor. Dill hangs around for a medium finish. Proof is in the 100 proof area. Nice dram -

Reviewed October 11, 2020 (edited March 31, 2021)This is an interesting bourbon. I think the story and history still makes this bottle priced what it is. Smell is cherry overtaken by a strong charred oak. That oak taste really hits hard at first touch of the palate with a corn taste as well. As you finish it loses a little of that oak flavor and burn. Almost conceding to an ethanol taste. Not overly bad, but definitely a unique bourbon. 2.5 whiskey barrel salute.. will taste again and see if it improves with being opened.80.0 USD per Bottle -
