Reviewed October 13, 2020We balanced although the white oak from the casks is reading quite prominent. It’s a decent pour although I’m not sure if it’s worth the price. -

Reviewed September 22, 2020Good rye if you want something that is complex and not sweet. This is a sipper to smell and think about vs mixing it. Ignore the 1 star ratings, they were just expecting something else. -

Reviewed September 6, 2020Color - light honey. Nose - soft and sweet up front, mint on the back. Taste - floral, pine, and grass. Finish - earthy leather. Price: $90 USD - 9/2020 in North Alabama. Wouldn’t buy this again. Wasn’t a bad taste, but not worth the price. -

Reviewed August 15, 2020 (edited November 23, 2020)Trying to be unbiased as this might be my favorite classic rye. Took a few glasses over the course of a month to hammer down the intratester reliability. The nose starts with vanilla extract and a grassy hay note like the wicker smell from an antique store. The palate is complex ranging from bitter chocolate to tobacco leaf and you may find the similarities in good freshly baked cracked rye bread. Ice brings out deeper hay notes and syrupy grain reminiscent of sweet corn. The finish is pleasantly lasting inlaid with freshly sawed pine and licorice.
