Black Maple Hill Straight Rye

When I first opened this a year ago I thought it was straight whack. Visited again tonight with a more sophisticated pallet and I really enjoy it. Sweet rye flavor. Drinks hotter than the 95proof. The oak is a definitely recognizable. I will now offer this to guests as my favorite rye at the moment.

Glad I wasted only $70 on this instead of the $100 I see most have spent on this garbage. Yuck

Medicinal mineral nose with cedar/pine. Floral nutty taste. Some wood, short finish.

I was duped into buying this rare, limited edition bottle. Rather than pour it out I just make old fashions w it to kill the taste. A rip off at $100. Live and learn to check the reviews before spending the big bucks.

Smooth front, Peppery back warmth but no crazy bite
