Blackened x Willett (Master of Whiskey Series)
Rye
Blackened // Kentucky, USA
This whiskey is the inaugural release in BLACKENED's Master of Whiskey series. BLACKENED Master Distiller & Blender Rob Dietrich and Willett Distillery's Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen selected low-rye and high-rye whiskeys aged on average 6.5 years from Willett Family Estate Reserve Selection.
They were then married and finished in Madeira casks for up to 14 weeks. During the finishing process, the whiskey underwent the brand's proprietary Black Noise sonic enhancement process using low hertz frequencies of Metallica's music to pummel the barrels. Bottled at cask strength of 109.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
