Blade And Bow Bourbon 22 Year (2015 Release)
Bourbon
Blade And Bow // Kentucky, USA
Blade and Bow Bourbon is named after the two parts of a skeleton key: the blade shaft and the ornate bow. Its name is a tribute to the five keys which hung at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery (1935-1992).
Each key represents the five steps in creating a bourbon: grains, yeast, fermentation, distillation, and aging. This 22 year-old bourbon includes some of the last bourbon produced at the Stizel-Weller Distillery before it closed in 1992.

Tasting Notes
"The initial nose is very sweet and full of honey, hay, caramel, almond, and even port wine. That fades into heavy oak and spice, which is what awaits the palate, along with white pepper, sawdust, and cinnamon. The finish is short and dry, with pepper, anise, and oak. It vanishes so quickly that you can hardly remember it. A higher proof might have allowed this bourbon to shine a little more. "
