B.R. Distilling has added a rye whiskey to its Blue Note portfolio with this release. Made with a mash bill recipe of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, this straight rye whiskey is aged for a minimum of 3 years.
It is bottled without filtration at 93 proof. Following its debut at the 2023 Kentucky Bourbon Festival in September, it will be available nationwide to the brand's current distribution locations in early fall 2023. (SRP $34.99).

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
