Bozal Mezcal Cuixe Single Maguey is made from wild cuixe agave, a subspecies of the Karwinskii Family of agave, harvested in the village of San Baltazar, Oaxaca.
The distillery uses centuries old methods of distillation: cooking the hearts in earthen pit ovens, crushing them using a tehona wheel, using wild yeast for fermentation, and distilling in copper pot stills.
