Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2012
Single Malt
Bruichladdich // Islay, Scotland
Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2012 is an unpeated single malt made using 100% malted barley grown on Islay. The 8 farms which grew the barley for this expression are listed on the front of the bottle. Four varieties of barley were used -- Concerto, Oxbridge, Propino, and Publican -- along with two yeast strains.
The single malt was distilled in 2012 and matured in first-fill American whiskey barrels (75%) and French wine casks (25%). It's bottled at 50% ABV without added color or chill-filtration. Available from the distillery's online site as of February 2021 and expected shortly thereafter in other global markets.
