Bruichladdich #LaddieMP4 Cask #16-062: Sherry
Bruichladdich // Islay, Scotland
The Micro Provenance Series (#LaddieMP4) is a string of experimental casks designed to explore the effects of cask maturation and warehouse selection, among other factors. From one of the unpeated runs from Bruichladdich's massive stills, Head Distiller, Adam Hannett, laid this spirit to rest in 2006 in a cask that previously held sherry, and it spent ten years in slumber on the Scottish Mainland. Cask 16-062 comes in a set of three 200ml bottles along with an ex-syrah cask (#361) and an ex-bourbon cask (#1062). Bottled at 58% ABV, just shy of the cask's strength, as with all Bruichladdich whiskies, this malt is non-chill filtered and contains no added coloring.
Single MaltDistilled in pot stills from 100% malted barley, produced at one distillery, aged in barrels; if Scotch or Irish, must be aged for at least three years.
