I'm new to whiskey, and this is my first bourbon. My vocabulary is still limited.
Vanilla on the nose is first and most powerful. Sweet banana or pear notes dominate the background. Occasional hint of some berry sweetness. Almost a hint of chocolate blend with the vanilla.
On the palate: spicy and peppery with strong oak tones. The vanilla is still there but very subdued.
Finish lingers with pepper and leather.
Tasted with a bit of water.
Good, but if available, Elmer T is a superior product. If I recall correctly, Elmer T was buffalo traces distiller for decades, and now there's an Elmer T bourbon, not sure if he had anything to do with it, but I recommend it.
