Reviewed November 5, 2022Earthy, sweet and slightly pungent nose with notes of Vanilla Coke, piña colada, mildly spicy and creamy woods, and just a bit of nail polish. Given time to breathe, the sharper more astringent notes fade and a fruity bouquet emerges with more pineapple, coconut, banana pudding, and maraschino cherries. The palate is very sweet, with loads of vanilla, spice, and everything nice. Yet, there’s certainly a bite to it, a little hot pepper mixed with cinnamon, and some nutty astringency, perhaps bitter almond or walnut followed by some stale tobacco. The body is quite good for the baseline ABV. Gorgeous, plump tears form from a thin skirt creating nicely uniform arches interspersed by little icicles, all descending at a moderate pace. The mouthfeel is somewhat syrupy bordering on velvety. The finish is a bit bitter, as the nuttiness lingers for a while before giving way to dried fruits, including a hint of apricot, and spiced black tea. Nose: 9 Taste: 8 Body: 8 Finish: 8
