Bitter LiqueursMuch like amaro, bitter liqueurs are made from the maceration or distillation (or combination) of herbs, spices, roots, flowers, or other botanicals. Bitter liqueurs are often red or orange in color, although they needn’t be. Sugar is added before bottling. ABV varies widely.
Tasting Notes
"With the same orange-red garnet hue of the original Campari, Cask Tales has a pleasant, but somewhat subdued aroma of bitter orange peel. On the palate, its texture is silky and the liqueur's flavor is full and rich. Most prominent are notes of bitter herbs and grapefruit rind and bright fruit. However, it's noticeably less bracing than it counterpart, with a touch of oak to smooth it out. While this would be a great addition to any cocktail calling for the original Campari, it's also very easy to sip on its own."
