Nose is spicy cinnamon, tart cherry, oak even though I don't think it's super old, and the dusty sweetness I get from wheat whiskey. The high malt comes out more on the palate but the front is still spicy sweet cinnamon and cherry. Sugared wood. The soft velvet sweetness of the malt then comes forward. It's still reminding me more of a wheated bourbon though. The finish is long and pleasant with the dusty sweetness. I really like this one and it's one of my favorite bourbons when I'm in the mood for the stronger spicy sweet flavors. Water softens it and makes it all brown sugar and cinnamon; a dessert bourbon!
