Heering // Denmark
Heering Cherry Liqueur is a dark red cherry liqueur made by macerating crushed Stevns cherries (including their stones) in neutral alcohol. Additional spices are added prior to aging in oak for three to five years. Sugar is added during aging process. No additives or artificial coloring are used. Created by Peter Heering in 1818, it is known as the "Original Cherry Liqueur" and is a required ingredient for a Singapore Sling and a Blood and Sand cocktail among others.
Fruit LiqueursFruit(s) is the the dominant flavor for the liqueur. Often, but not always, the primary fruit flavor will be listed on the bottle. And sometimes the fruit will be listed in French. The base spirit is often neutral spirit, but other liquors such as brandy can be used. Sugar is added before bottling. ABV varies widely.
