Several years ago, I wandered into a bourbon bar and met a delightful old man who clearly enjoyed bourbon. I asked him which bourbon I should try. He said, "all of them - they're all good".
Well Clyde Mays wasn't on the wall that day. And it doesn't deserve to be. Nice label, though.
Appeciating the sweetness and vanilla of this underrated bourbon. Brown sugar comes through and I get a hint of pecan which reminds me of one of my favorite Thanksgiving pies!
Straight up it tastes like a moonshiner made a bourbon. Wonder why. On the rocks or with a splash the flavors come out and gives a great balanced flavor traditional to American whiskey.
