Very fruity, stone fruits mostly. For the price tag it is a very good dram, something that pretty much anyone with a taste for spirits would enjoy. I would buy it again.
this is a really wonderful whisky. it is bottled at 46% and no color added like most of compass boxes lineup. i get fruit up front. none of the bad ones; only apple and pear and then it gets sweeter with some vanilla and ends with a nuttiness. compass box is such a high integrity whisky maker and orchard house is no exception. it’s one of the more complex scotches i’ve had in the price range. generally at $50 (austin tx prices) you are getting one dimensional flavor profiles. this is not that.
Fruity on the nose. Very pleasant. Peach, apricot. Light aromatic. On the pallet, apricot also, light finish fruity, light metallic finish also. Agreement with the nose.

Nose: Sweet conference pear, green and red apple, vanilla, but inhale too hard and it turns into acetone.
Palate: Light, tangy sweet cider apple, delicate floral notes like jasmine.
Finish: Very subtle peat comes and goes with a lasting flavour of pear.
