American BrandyProduced in the US, this is usually referring to brandy distilled from grape-based wine. If the producer uses other fruit, it must be stated on the label. If aged under two years in oak, it must state the word "immature" on the label. Beyond that, labels such as VS, VSOP, and XO mean little as the brands themselves dictate what that means to them.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is spicy and oaky, with hops and malt underneath. The palate comes on big, but remains smooth, showcasing more dry oak and a malty sweetness which permeates the spirit throughout. Light roasty and nutty notes. The finish comes on a bit fiery, with strong spice and more hops. Influence from this expression comes most heavily from the barrels and not the brandy distillate, more whiskey-like than anything else. "
