Copper & Kings Destillaré Intense Orange Curaçao
Triple Sec/Curaçao
Copper & Kings // Kentucky, USA
Brandy is Copper & Kings’ bread and butter, so it comes as no surprise that the brand’s liqueur would use a base of apple brandy low wine, or the spirit from the first round of distillation. To make the orange curaçao, the apple brandy goes through a process of multiple macerations and distillations with orange peels, spices, honey, and lavender before being finished in the brand’s own brandy barrels for three to six months.
The spirit is then sweetened and cut with orange blossom honey. It is bottled at 45% ABV.

Triple Sec/CuraçaoBoth triple sec and curaçao are orange flavored liqueurs. Triple sec is clear typically made with a neutral grain base. Curaçao is generally orange or blue and historically has a brandy base. Curaçao is often also flavored with additional spices, but does not have to originate in the isle. Generally the higher the ABV for both, the better the quality.

Tasting Notes
"Sugared orange is heavy on the nose with hints of vanilla and honey creeping in. The palate reveals a fiery flavor that's a balancing act between slightly bitter orange oil and floral honey. It's a powerhouse of a liqueur that would do well to add depth to cocktails in small doses."
