The Ninth. A Symphony in Orange is a gin from Copper & Kings in Kentucky. Then Seville blood oranges, sweet orange peels, and jasmine are placed in a gin basket while the distillate is vapor-distilled through the botanicals. Lastly, the gin ages briefly in orange curaçao barrels for the final flourish.
Barrel-Aged GinGin which spends some time in barrels, generally not more than a few months at a time, although there is no legal definition for this style.
Cask Typeorange curaçao barrels
"A rainbow of orange--from canned OJ concentrate to chewy orange gumdrops and curaçao-- is backed by violets. The palate is oily and a bit sharp on entry, showing grape spirit, grapefruit, bitter orange pith, gentian, and citrus peels. The first hint of juniper comes towards the back palate and moves into the short finish, along with pine resin, medicinal spearmint, lemongrass and cardamom. "
