Copper & Kings Way Up West is a pot-distilled American brandy from the Louisville, Kentucky distillery. It is made from a blend of grapes including muscat, chenin blanc, and French colombard. It finished its maturation in Pacific Northwest single malt whiskey barrels. Way Up West is non-chill filtered and bottled with no added color or boisé (a concentrated wood-flavored syrup made of oak chips, sugar, and low-proof brandy which is commonly added to brandy).

Produced in the US, this is usually referring to brandy distilled from grape-based wine. If the producer uses other fruit, it must be stated on the label. If aged under two years in oak, it must state the word "immature" on the label. Beyond that, labels such as VS, VSOP, and XO mean little as the brands themselves dictate what that means to them.
