Reviewed December 19, 2021 (edited June 12, 2022)This year i have discovered how amazing the signatory vintage bottlings are. I am now a bit obsessed with the big cork "man torso looking" ones, and i have scored some rarities of those releases. This time a Dalmore (which are not usual to find in independent bottlings, at least they are harder than other distilleries). Distilled in 1990, a 16yo Cask strength single malt, bottled at 61.5%abv. Matured in a 1st filled Sherry Butt, Cask 7320, bottle 295 of 585. Amber color, very heavy legs on the Glencairn. On the nose, a little harsh, and not what you expect from a traditional Dalmore. Acetone, nutty and fondant. Green grapes. Manzanilla tea (chamomile). Burnt pineapple, citric profile. Skin lotion. After a first sip, the aroma was cheesecake. On the palate, a flavorful little fellow. Chocolate and the most amazing Coconut note ever. Pineapple, dry vanilla cake. Aftertaste was fantastic. Raisins, salt, sulphur and very grapy. Lots of fresh Figs and dates. Overall, this wasn't as good as i expected it to be, but it is still a very nice dram. The typical Dalmore profile appeared only on the great aftertaste, but i believe that some people might find it a little simple and harsh, for me, it just "could be better". My score for it is 90 over 100.
