Dark Horse Distillery opened in 2010 with Rider Vodka, Reunion Rye, Reserve Bourbon and of course Long Shot white whiskey. The Lenexa (Kansas City, KS) based company is family-owned and run in a 20,000 sq ft location that also doubles as an event space.

Tasting Notes

"The whiskey itself comes in at 80 proof and is as clear as water. It has a very raw nasal character as you should expect. For a white whiskey it is very mild. The aroma has a faint resemblance of rising bread. And a slight floral character I’m going to chalk up to good Midwestern water."
