Detroit City Peacemaker Gin
Detroit City // Michigan, USA
Detroit City Peacemaker Gin was a 2015 small-batch release by Detroit City Distillery to kick off their Summer of Gin event and Ginsmith competition. Most of the botanicals used were sourced from Germack Co in the city's historic Eastern Market, with the white pine and blue spruce harvested from the Forsyth Family Farm in Bath, Michigan. These trees were planted years ago by distillery founder, Michael Forsyth.
Modern GinAlso has been referred to as "Contemporary", "New Western", "New Wave", and "New American". This style is not legally defined. In general, this category of gin, while it does contain juniper, places less of an emphasis on this botanical. Other botanicals not classically used in London Dry gins are often utilized and often highlight botanicals grown in the region the gin is produced. Most produced as either London Dry or Distilled Gins.
