Dewar's White Label

Very drinkable. Worked well with ice

With the price tag I had really low expectations, but only one customer at my liquor store buys it on my specific shift somewhat regular so i had no other predisposed opinions based on the customers like i do with Taaka Vodka (where each customer almost looks like a clone of the next, with very subtle variations), but for the price this tastes way better than it should. In a glass, the scent didn't give me high hopes, it kinda smells like Johnny Walker Red Label (which I don't like the smell or the taste of... too strange for me, too complex) but the scent is a bit muted in comparison to JWRL. Like other scotches, i swirl it around, look at the legs, take a sniff, and the smell isn't isn't as weird as Red Label, but the taste of the drink after sitting on my tongue for 10 seconds or more, I like better than JWRL, and better than Chivas 12 yr for sure as well. This is my opinion and if you are a nicer bourbon drinker who doesn't mind Evan Williams when on a budget, Dewar's "White Label" seems like a Glenlivet 12 on a budget. Very surprised and impressed. The taste is much better than the smell, and the smell isn't so strong that it's distracting. Not bad, I only regret not buying a bigger bottle than a half-pint, but that's how "trying a spirit" goes. You tend to don't want to get stuck with something that delivers on low expectations.
