Distiller's Drawers

Release No. 24 Single Cask Pot Stilled Rum 54.5% ABV I love Privateer, particularly the Navy Yard rum. They are all single barrels and I've never had a bad one. I would put Privateer's Navy Yard rum up against Foursquare or the best aged rums in the world. Knowing how good Privateer rums can be makes this Distiller's Drawer selection particularly disappointing. The nose is quite good with notes of burnt sugar and pipe tobacco, but on the palate, the main note I get is gasoline. If I try really hard I can pick up molasses and funky over ripe bananas, but it really isn't worth trying that hard. I'll try it as a mixer, but this is the closest I've come to a drain pour in a long time.
