Reviewed July 6, 2021 (edited March 30, 2022)Another winner from Washington DC based amaro maker Don Ciccio. This one is based on a traditional Italian recipe dating back to 1890s, from the original Don Ciccio distillery in Amalfi Coast. It’s a bitter sweet liqueur made with rhubarb roots, honeysuckle, rose petals, chamomile, bitter oranges and about 15 other ingredients. It’s aged then 1 year in French oak. Taste is somewhat fruity and sweet upfront, then with a strong dose of the bitter orange. Thick mouthfeel, and a long fruity finish. It’s ideal for an after dinner pour, neat or over ice. Mine was a small 5cl sample that I purchased for $3, but I’d gladly buy a bottle3.0 USD per Pour
