Although distilled in the Tequila Valley (Lowlands) at La Tequileña distillery (NOM 1146), the 100% estate-grown blue agave used is harvested from the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, Mexico.

After distillation, this (extra) añejo spends 5 years aging in new French oak.

Tequila Extra AñejoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged for at least 3 years in barrels not to exceed 600 liters. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Extra Añejo tequilas are also known as "ultra aged".
