Don Q Reserva 7 is a new release crafted by master blender Jaiker Soto in collaboration with Silvia Santiago, Maestra Ronera, and Roberto Serrallés, sixth-generation rum maker. Soto blended both light and heavy rums distilled in two types of column stills. These rums each aged for a minimum of 7 years in American white oak barrels. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is available as of August 2020.

Tasting Notes

"The aroma is of moderate intensity with molasses, vanilla, oak and a light char smoke. There's a hint of tropical fruit and chocolate here as well. The rum is medium bodied and the barrel spices give the rum a little dimension. It's just lightly sweet on the palate and has a bittersweet and gentle spiced finish. Nothing too flashy here; the rum is a solid uncomplicated pour. Good to mix in a long drink (a Rum and Coke, in particular) or just with a couple of rocks and a squeeze of lime."
