Reviewed October 6, 2022 (edited October 7, 2022)[10.6.22] Family pictures with my in-laws were tonight and we celebrated with pizza and whiskey from their recent trip. Find yourself in-laws like these - they are the best in the business. I have to say that after this one, I'm totally in love with whiskeys from the Lake Michigan shores. First the Grand Traverse Islay Rye (excellent), then the Eastern Kille Breakfast Rye (nearly drank it all in one sitting), and now this. Mellow is the word choice - maybe this comes from the constant turmoil of humidities and temperatures in the region flexing the barrel exposure? This is a sweet, oakey vanilla, minimal florals or leather, low tannins but a dose of spice underlayer. Truly a fine piece, at least the bottle I sampled was. -

Reviewed September 20, 2020Forgot I purchased this on a trip to Door County, WI. It was buried back on a shelf in my pantry. Cracked the seal, popped the cork, poured a little and wow! It’s light and sweet. The wife likes it, which is pretty rare. Only bad thing is it’s such a small bottle and Door County is so far away. -

Reviewed January 16, 2020Nose: Sugar, molasses and a huge floral punch Mouthfeel: A little thin but coats nicely Taste: Like shoving your face in a bouquet, the sweetness almost totally vanishes in lieu of a huge floral flavor. Finish: Sugary sweetness shows up a little bit, with a little vanilla. Overall: Not bad, not sure it's worth the $20/350ml price but I'm always willing to give something local a shot every now and again; I'm not overly disappointed. I'm giving this a Rank 4. It's not amazingly complex, or delicious. It's just kind of there. A thin, sweet floral dram with no real complexity.20.0 USD per Bottle
