Doorly's 8 Year

Oaky with caramel, and vanilla (and maybe some red fruit) underneath. Not very sweet. A consistent, high quality and predictable, if not complex, drinking experience. Can be sipped and, IMO, is better in a rum Old Fashioned.

Im very new to rum this is the 3rd rum I have ever tried in my life and is my favorite. Coming from collecting bourbon and whiskeys I am surprised and delighted by how cheap and available older vintage rums are. This for example was 19.99 at total wine. it was a great purchase to dip my feet into rum and is great neat or with ice. even though it is only 80 proof it has long oily fingers when ice is added and is not thin watery and heavy on the alphol/ethanol taste when sipping lower proof aged spirits like rum and whiskey. If you can find this for 20.00and want to see what something other than Bacardi taste like I highly recommend this bottle

Not bad, it actually has some depth not sweet at all...
