Edgerton Original Pink Gin
Distilled Gin
Edgerton // England
Following the release of The London No 1 Gin in 2010, Martin Edgarton Gill, former owner of the London Gin Company, decided to create his own version of pink gin as a way to honor the legacy of his father, who had served in the Royal Navy. Pink gin was originally created in the 1800s as a way to treat sea sickness. It consisted of a blend of gin and Angostura bitters.
By the end of the 19th century, it was popular drink in bars worldwide. Released in 2011, Edgerton Original Pink Gin is made with a long list of botanicals: juniper berries, orris powder, grains of paradise, sweet orange peel, savory, damiana, cassia bark, nutmeg, coriander seed, licorice root, almond powder, cinnamon, lemon peel, angelica root, and pomegranate (which gives the gin its pink tint). The final gin is then bottled at 47% ABV.
