Very pleasant rum, the best I've ever tasted for this moment. Very delicate palate, not too sweet or spiced. I would compare it with good cognac or single malt whiskey, which you can drink neat and enjoy.

My introduction to rum as a bourbon drinker. Sweet and enjoyable, yet still a nice oak presence on the palate. Huge fan and anxious to try other years of El Dorado.
Smell is heavy, dark rum, hints of alcohol and caramel. Nothing interesting here. The taste is sweet-ish, with immediate alcohol burn. So it tastes bit bitter, like burned caramel. Finish is kind of toffee taste, but bland with leftovers of that alcoholic burn. Overall, not really my taste and the amount of added sugar doesn't suit me too.
