Evan Williams 1783 Bourbon (80 Proof)

Yeah, bargain basement price ($25 for 1.75L), but the taste is above that. Clearly not top shelf, but a good dram when called upon. Thin mouthfeel, tastes young, but all the characteristics that you want are there, with little to none of the ones you don't.

What the 1783 lacks in complexity it makes up for in price. Fairly well balanced bourbon that is exactly what one expects a decent example of the type should be. A great mixer and versatile. At the going rate of $23 1783 should be a staple of a home cocktail bar, if it is not everything a seasoned sipper demands.
