Tequila Reposado
Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Excellia is a project created by EWG Spirits & Wine founder Jean-Sébastien Robicquet and master tequila producer Carlos Carmarena, combining traditional tequila with the technique of wine cask aging.
The reposado was aged 9 months in a combination of grand cru Sauternes and Cognac barrels, using agave that is 8 - 10 years old at harvest.

Tasting Notes
"Warm stewed fruits, raisins and bananas contribute to the richness of this reposado style. It’s further sweetened by vanilla, honey and sweet spices, with some of the rancio qualities imparted by the cognac barrel. A touch of thyme reminds this is still an agave spirit, though that is much heavier than most in this category."
